The British Kettlebell Lifting Federation is the organization for the promotion of kettlebell lifting for sport, fitness and strength and conditioning. They are the official UK representatives of The International Union of Kettlebell Lifting.  

The BKLF was formed in 2006 at the request of the IUKL executive committee.

The IUKL is the international sporting body for the promotion of all aspects of kettlebell lifting. The organization promotes certificated coaching courses at 3 levels as well as National and International kettlebell lifting competitions - Amateur and Professional.

Kenan of Hybridfit received all instruction from Mr Vasily Ginjko, 7 times Kettlebell Lifting World Champion, based in Latvia.

 On a daily basis i hear conversations where people have been given advice by so called 'personal trainers' on how to lose weight, gain muscle, run faster, gain that '6 pack' etc etc,and i cant believe what i hear......complete rubbish and false information time and time again, i feel very strongly about this as usually these people that have been given this advice then try to follow it and get disheartened when they dont get the results they want. This site has been put together as i wanted to have a space where i could put down some of my many thoughts and ideas on all types of training whether good or bad, i'll also cover a bit on nutrition at some point, i hope that you will be able to get some helpful tips from this site over the coming weeks and months and apply them to your own training sessions.

 

I have been working and training in health clubs for a number of years and have seen that routines offered very rarely change, one thing i noticed was that no matter what the clients goal they were always given pretty much the same routine, 20-30 mins cardio then a chest, back and leg exercise and thats it! or where given the standard 2 body parts a day ie; chest, triceps - back, biceps etc etc.


Everybody is different and therefore requires different ways of training, however we can all benefit from keeping things simple. The bottom line is to target the main muscle groups in each session ie; legs, back, chest and shoulders but through functional exercises, by doing this then all the smaller muscles are going to get a great 'indirect' workout at the same time. I'll go into more detail at a later stage.


 


Most people go to a gym for 2 hours and get a 30 minute workout, with hybridFit, when you train for 30 minutes you get a 2 hour workout! what im saying is most people need to work not just a little harder but more importantly.....smarter.

 

Lets face it, no one likes spending ages in the gym. Ultimately we are only there to reach our goals and by reducing our session times and making them more productive we will not only reach our goals faster, but we will have more time doing what we enjoy whether its spending time with the family or shopping.

 

All sessions with me will be purely functional, incorporating lots of muscle groups all at the same time, i call this the 'minimalist program' and i can guarantee it is the best way to train, not only that but i will be proving to you how beneficial it is.


There are many advantages for training this way, most importantly for longevity of life and being able to perform daily tasks with a little more ease, like running up a flight of stairs at work and not being puffed out at the top or bending and twisting to get your baby out of his/her car seat and putting your back out.  Sessions like this will also burn a lot of calories due to the muscle groups being used and also the intensity of the session. Not only this but your metabolism will be elavated for an extended time after training therefore increasing calories burnt. Another benefit is that i promise you you will have  that feel good factor and you will feel great afterwards.


During any sessions with me you will be using anything and everything that i think would be ideal to achieve the desired result, Kettlebells, Sandbags, Tyres, Boxing, Logs, Body weight, Park Benches, Staircases, Medicine Balls, the list is endless. If it can be carried, thrown or dragged then we will use it!. ( you'll be amazed at what can be done with a park bench).


Above all dont be put off thinking that it all sounds too hard, yes you will be pushed a bit to achieve those goals but it is all managable by everyone, male or female young or old, i can promise you you will look forward to your next session.

 



 General Physical Skills

If your goal is optimum physical conditioning then all the general physical skills must be taken into account:

1. Cardiovascular/respiritory endurance - The ability of body systems to gather, process and deliver oxygen.

2. Stamina - The ability of body systems to process, deliver, store and utilize energy.

3. Strength - The ability of a group of muscles or single muscle to exert force.

4. Flexibility - to maximize range of motion at a given joint.

5. Power - The ability of muscles to apply maximum force in minimum time.

6. Speed - The ability to minimize the time cycle of a repeated movement.

7. Coordination - The ability to combine several movement patterns into one single movement.

8. Agility - Moving quickly and smoothly from one movement to another.

9. Balance - The ability to control the bodies center of gravity.

10. Accuracy - To control movement in a given direction.
