The posterior chain includes the group of muscles mainly situated on the back of your body, including calves, hamstrings, glutes, lower back, lats, trapezius, rhomboids and biceps. Due to Western lifestyle where individuals tend to sit for a large proportion of the time (working, driving, etc.) the posterior chain is likely to weaken over time. This has led to a near epidemic of lower back pain, with nearly 50% of individuals suffering with lower back pain on a regular basis. Strengthening the posterior chain is essential, and this program will walk you through resistance focused exercises for the entire posterior chain. You may recognise these movements as characterized by 'pulling' exercises.
